PhD Qualified Maths/Science Tutor. I have over 6 years of experience teaching engineering, physics and Math’s courses from secondary school to university master’s level. My career highlights so far have been industrial experience modelling electro-mechanical problems for the Norwegian oil and gas sector and modelling hypersonic vehicles for the European Space Agency.
Sympathetic Maths and Science tutor ready to make an positive impact as a tutor because firstly I have experience of teaching to secondary level students. For example in 2016 I taught Maths at Dyke House College on a SCITT course where I learnt to simplify complex and difficult concepts and scaffold them for students of all levels of the secondary school learning pathway. I have taught and worked throughout the full age and ability range and appreciate how the fundamentals are vital if the learner is to understand higher level concepts.
I have also taught engineering concepts and content to university level students in 2018 when I was an academic tutor at Swansea University. This role involved delivering and marking engineering assignments and embedding VR technology in the civil, mechanical and aerospace portfolio.
In addition in 2019 I taught various curricula including Maths and Science for the International Baccalaureat at the International School in Alesund, Norway. The international Baccalaureat focuses on enquiry lead learning. This shows I have experience of working with students of all ages and ability.
