Shailan is a very good tutor. Ensures the student understands the teaching methods applied by him. Very encouraging and gives useful diagrams to help understand tricky concepts. Have seen tremendous progress my son has done since Shailan came on board.

Shailan built an excellent rapport with my daughter who responded instantly to his calm and clear method of teaching Maths. Her confidence grew and she went from feeling she would never pass her Maths GCSE to achieving a solid pass. Shailan shared simplified techniques to suit her ability and set doable but challenging homework. He was happy to be available to help any time that was needed. Shailan has been working with my daughter and has supported her patiently explaining the topics with example after example to help her understand. Shailan worked with my daughter to improve her confidence in her maths ability after a disappointing mock result. He built her faith in her own ability by carefully preparing her for her GCSE. Shailan is an excellent tutor. He is professional, conscientious, patient and determined for his students to do well. He is well briefed and up to date with exam requirements and expectations. My daughter has already improved immensely in her GCSE maths grade over the last few months. He has given her the confidence she needed. Shailan is an excellent tutor. He connects well with his students and builds rapport quickly. He is professional, and reliable. Not only does he know the subjects he teaches my daughter well (i.e. GCSE physics and biology) but he is also able to pass on that knowledge in a way whcih is easy to understand. Shailan is also very flexible and willing to help with other subjects that he teaches when the need arises. I have no hesitation in recommending Shailan as a tutor.

It's still early days, we have only had a few lessons, but so far I am very happy with the tutoring for my son (A Level Physics) and daughter (GCSE Maths).

Shailan is polite, professional and enthusiastic about teaching both children. My son’s comments:
Mr is a good teacher and having being tutored by him for 6 months now, I think it is fair to say that he knows how to teach students and make them understand the content. For Science, he uses the mind map technique, which helps condense concepts into key information. This technique helps for me because it makes me understand the information in chunks, rather than one massive page of notes. For Maths he uses the writing notes technique. Also, for homework he gives you exam questions on the topic you have covered with him. This is helpful because not only are you practising the questions on the topic which you have done but you are also practising the way they will ask you in the exam.
In conclusion, Mr is a good tuition teacher and I would recommend anyone to be tutored by him. He will surely change your grade into an A*(9).

My son is quite happy with Mr ’s way of teaching – explains a topic, gives homework on that & test his knowledge out by way of test. Changes his teaching methods to the students’ needs. We have a free hand to customise what we want to cover.

Shailan is a very impressive tutor and my son has been able to grasp challenging subject areas at ease as Shailan’s knowledge and methodology are astounding. Shailan gives detailed feedback and appears to know where each strength and weaknesses lies in his student, this makes individual progression very easy and my son has achieved very good results. At first impressions, Shailan is very well motivated and determined at what he does. He enjoys to educate and learn in different ways in which he can use to help people more-so than they require.

Having had Shailan for a couple of sessions, I have learnt new ways of making my learning much more simple and easier. For example, 'working backwards' when tackling a difficult question. Shailan uses modern applications to apply his teaching to his students which is very beneficial, as it has helped me to understand what is actually being taught. This, I feel, makes me intrigued to want to learn more about Physics beyond A-Level. More-so, his help and guidance has made me feel more confident about my upcoming exams.

Shailan heavily focuses on exam-type questions, by setting homework from past papers. This has helped me very much as I am getting confident with the type of standard my answers should be. In-turn, it has allowed me to become familiar with the type of questions that are going to be thrown at me, so when I do sit my exam paper, I do not get overly worried and nervous.

For some constructive feedback for Shailan; I would suggest that he would go over very briefly about the content that was covered in the previous session. (When starting a new session). This is to allow myself and other students to re-jog their memory and to go over any misunderstandings that there may haven been.

Above all, Shailan is a very good tutor and I would recommend anyone to choose him as your tutor. Not only is Shailan a good tutor but also a friend!

Shailan worked with our son in the run up to his GCSE exams this year. He was extremely professional, reliable and courteous. He took the time after each session to e mail an update of how each it went and what he covered in the slotted time. Our son liked Shailan very much and his style suited him. In particular he felt that his approach gave him the confidence on how to deal with exams, providing a structured approach to papers as well as focussing on his weaker areas. Shailan is very knowledgeable in his subjects. As a result our son got through his exams in a calm, focused and relaxed manner. I would recommend Shailan without hesitation.
