Hi, I am Shahzaib, a final Chemical Engineering student at UCL.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored GCSE Maths over the past 5 years. I have also interned at schools and am currently a lead tutor organising revision sessions at a secondary school. Throughout all this, I have worked with students with a variety of abilities and exam boards giving me a solid understanding of exam expectations and what students need to know for their assessments.

Tutoring Approach

It is very important to me that our sessions foster a supportive learning environment so that students can fully engage with the material and make the most out of our time together. A session would usually start with a revisit of a previously covered topic so that we are constantly refreshing understanding. We would then progress to delivery of the topic in whichever format we have agreed upon that works best for the student. I design the lessons to be interactive and fun bringing in real-world applications wherever possible. The bulk of the lesson would then focus on attempting questions, together and individually, to apply learning. I make sure to focus on exam techniques and developing strategies together for tackling challenging questions. I am happy to organise homework and am always available whenever you may need help.

I have helped many students achieve grades beyond their expectations and hope to continue supporting students in fulfilling their potential.
