I would like to introduce myself as an experienced and dedicated Maths tutor, specialising in a wide range of academic levels. With a passion for teaching and a strong track record of success, I offer tutoring services in the following areas:

Tutoring Experience

Throughout my extensive career as a private tutor, spanning over 15 years, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students. I have successfully assisted struggling students in improving their grades from 5/6 to 8/9, enabling them to reach their full potential through my unique teaching methods. I am familiar with the National Curriculum and various examination boards, including Edexcel, AQA, and OCR. I have designed and delivered engaging and comprehensive lessons that adhere to the National Curriculum and examination board requirements, ensuring that my students are well-prepared for their exams. In addition to preparing students for national exams, I have also gained valuable experience in tutoring for 11+ and 13+ entrance exam, helping students secure admission into top schools.

Having had the privilege of closely working with numerous students, I have personally witnessed the transformative impact that one-on-one and small group tutoring can have on their educational journey. It provides an ideal platform to motivate and guide students, allowing them to flourish and develop a greater sense of dedication and determination towards their studies.

Tutoring Approach

I do not believe anyone is “bad” at maths, they just need the right support to build their confidence and understanding. In my teaching approach, I prioritise tailoring the lessons to each individual student. Recognising that every person has their own unique understanding and learning style, I strive to adapt my methods accordingly. Moreover, I aim to empower students to learn independently and teach them to find answers through their own reasoning and deduction especially when aiming for top grades.

To enhance my students' exam performance, I employ a combination of past paper practice and active recall. By familiarising them with how exam boards assess and mark questions, I ensure that they do not lose marks unnecessarily due to "wording" or miscommunication. By incorporating these skills, my students develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and the examination itself.

Overall, my tutoring approach focuses on personalisation, independent learning, and exam strategy, enabling my students to excel academically and reach their desired goals.
