Online Chemistry and Study Skills Lessons

I am a Chemistry teacher offering tutoring at all levels (National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher)

I live in Coatbridge but work in West Lothian Council. This means I would be open to tutoring in surrounding areas of both these places.

I obtained a bachelor's degree in Forensic Science (2016) from UWS and PGDE Secondary education (chemistry and science)(2017) from the University of Strathclyde.

I have been a teacher for 4 years and have taught and tutored national 5 and Higher Chemistry. I am familiar with the Advanced Higher Chemistry course and have taught the project aspect of this course (I offer tutoring for Advanced Higher at £45 per hour which is lower than most due to lack of experience in this area)

I have a car so would be willing to travel some distance for tutoring, but due to COVID I would prefer to tutor online via zoom or Teams

I am currently available weekday evenings. My weekends are taken up with personal matters but I would consider occasional weekend tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience teaching National 4, 5 and Higher Chemistry courses as well as basic numeracy and problem solving skills. I am currently developing experience in advanced higher Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach

tutoring should always be student led and this is how I approach my work.

I am very flexible but have found that going over an area of the course and an explanation of the challenging areas works well. Working through exam style questions works at building confidence in those areas. The objective is to build confidence and skills with a view to improving examination performance
