I am a qualified Arabic teacher in the UK with a career of over 30 years in the field and a bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Islamic studies from the Faculty of Dar Al Uloum, the most prominent faculty in that field in Egypt. Teaching the Arabic language is not simply a hobby, but my job and specialty and I am here to help you speak, read and write Arabic with proficiency.
Throughout my time as an Arabic teacher, I have worked in a variety of settings including primary and secondary stages in schools in Egypt and the UK. In addition to in person teaching, I also have online teaching experience. Furthermore, I have extensive experience in one-to-one private tuition, working with both child and adult learners, and understand the value of having the dedicated attention of a teacher to answer questions and explain concepts for an entire session. This has allowed me to help a diverse range of students reach their educational goals including many students achieving outstanding results and full marks in GCSE and MYP exams.

Tutoring Experience

• I worked for seven years in the King Fahad Academy, London, as an Arabic teacher in the Upper School, where I taught a variety of curriculums and completed training in Amman and Prague to receive certificates in MYP category 1 & 2 Language and Literature. During my time at the school, I received multiple awards including an award for outstanding results.
• I worked for eight years in the Egyptian Embassy School, London, as an Arabic and Islamic studies teacher.
• I worked for ten years as a teacher of the Secondary Stage at El-Mobtadayan Secondary School, Cairo. I was always sure to encourage my students to love the Arabic language and Islamic Studies, which enabled my students to achieve the best results in their Arabic exams. As a result of that, I received the regional award of Best Teacher in the South Educational Department, Cairo, Egypt.
• I worked as a primary and prep schoolteacher in Al-Aabed school in Cairo, where I gained a lot of experience in dealing with students of a young age and being able to communicate with them and deliver the Arabic and Islamic curriculum in a way they understand and enjoy.

Tutoring Approach

An essential part of my approach to teaching is providing the necessary atmosphere and support for students to truly enjoy and become passionate about the Arabic language. This holistic method ensures that learners are comfortable to ask questions, revisit concepts and build an intrinsic drive to advance their knowledge of the subject. This is managed expertly depending on the age and goals of each student.
To ensure their efforts are best utilised, I emphasise the importance of high-quality teaching, individually tailored approaches and adapting to the strengths of each student. I prepare educational material which relates specifically to the stage of the student I am teaching and provide worksheets both in-lesson and as homework which is utilised to give important feedback to students and build future lesson plans. We will work on building solid foundations of grammar which can then be expanded towards proficiency in reading, writing and speaking.
