I have been a teacher for 12 years and an AQA examiner for 8. I am able to adapt teaching strategies based on the student's needs and have a natural patience when students are struggling to understand a concept.
I have been an English teacher for 12 years leading students through the WJEC, AQA and Edexcel spec at GCSE.
I have also been a GCSE examiner for 8 years with AQA on Language Paper 1 and a Team Leader for 3 years.
Additionally, I worked with Pearson in their national tutoring programme for 2 years working with students remotely between the ages of 11 and 16.
I like to find out what interests a student, then I tie new knowledge into my own anecdotes or modern examples. For example, snake imagery in Macbeth to their own colloquialisms of calling a back stabber a snake. I also like to use humour to engage student in order to maintain focus and attention across a longer period of time.
