I have a degree in Biology and Analytical Chemistry. I always wanted to teach, but decided that after graduation I needed to leave education and gain 'real world' experience. I have worked in both laboratory and office environments, always staying within the science sector. I feel that this gives me an insight into the skills that employers are looking for, in addition to excellent academic qualifications.
I am now a qualified teacher and enjoy teaching science, watching and encouraging students to progress and reach their full potential.
I have experience teaching both GCSE and A Level in a school and in a home environment. I specialise in Biology, but am also familiar with Chemistry and Physics at GCSE. I am passionate about science and love sharing this subject through varied approaches.
I am a friendly and patient person. I tailor my approach to each student, encouraging them to gain the necessary skills to succeed.
It is important that students understand the course content, working on key words and linking ideas. Nearer exams, the focus switches to revision techniques and answering exam questions to build confidence.
