I am an extremely approachable, sociable and adaptable teacher who is dedicated to ensuring that every student achieves their full potential in a way that suits them best. I believe in the importance of creating a bespoke approach to learning for the individual student.

I am a fully qualified Teacher of English and have also had experience tutoring both in person and online. I have experience of teaching all abilities. Before teaching, I spent a year working as a tutor at a private tuition centre. It was here that I gained experience of tutoring primary and secondary English, including GCSEs. This was done alongside the completion of my masters in Education Practice, which allowed me the opportunity to research teaching and learning before applying it when teaching students.

Tutoring Experience

Having been involved with the education of others since leaving school, I have an array of experience with a range of age groups. I began by educational journey as a teaching assistant for KS1 before completing my degree in English Literature and Language in order to become a qualified Secondary English Teacher.

I then completed a Masters in Education Practice to thoroughly understand teaching and learning, whilst tutoring students at a tutoring centre. This allowed me to put my educational research into practice.

I then completed my PGCE in 2019 and have been a Teacher of English for the past four years.

Tutoring Approach

I am a dynamic teacher who believes in the importance and power of feedback. Continuous feedback is what allows students to understand their errors and improve as a result. I also believe in ensuring every session is unique to the learner, and I do this by assessing students first. I am then able to pinpoint what the learner is doing well, and what needs to be improved. Sessions thereafter would involve focussing on areas of improvement. Students will then be able to compare their work in order to see their progress, which helps in motivation and perpetuating a growth mindset.
