I have a clear commitment to providing an excellent student experience and student-centred teaching. As a teacher with specialist knowledge of teaching GCSE, A Level and IB History, Classical Civilisation and A Level Accounting in a boarding school, the state sector and in Germany, I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I have also trained as a chartered accountant in London and to that end am uniquely placed to also offer tutoring in A Level Accounting.

Tutoring Experience

I am passionate about promoting a superb student experience. I am fully qualified and have taught GCSE, A Level and IB History, Classical Civilisation and RPE GCSE and lower school Humanities in the UK and abroad. I have extensive experience of tutoring international students on-line and at a boarding school. My experience allows me to inform my planning and analysis to provide tailor-made teaching. I possess excellent ICT skills delivering lessons during lockdown via Microsoft Teams to pupils taught online each week. I pride myself on motivating people to engage with a subject and, with my teaching, to bring out the best in them. I can promote a positive work ethic that is reflected in student enjoyment and satisfaction.

Tutoring Approach

Confidence breeds success. I motivate students to make learning and enjoyable for them. I firmly believe that whatever your age, the more engage positively with the learning resources and the learning experience, the better, such that fear and nerves never have a part in the cycle of learning. I have researched and analysed curricula to deliver the skills and knowledge needed to bring capability to examination courses, delivering material in positive and helpful ways. I make lessons that are accessible to all types of learner. I also want to foster a lifelong love of learning for its own sake and am therefore wish to bring History and Ancient History, where applicable to those who wish to learn about something new. I understand that the enjoyment of a subject is key to learning it well. I enjoy promoting a positive work ethic that is reflected in student enjoyment and satisfaction.
