Online Maths and Chemistry Lessons

Hi! I'm a second-year medical student at Imperial College London, one of the world's best medical schools. Having a strong passion for Maths and Science as well as a powerful desire to share my knowledge, I decided to start tutoring a few years ago for numerous different levels. Academic success is my main focus and I aspire to help others achieve it in the easiest, most understandable way possible. I received the Lucas Lee Scholarship from Imperial College London, a full scholarship that is given to one student every 3 years for their amazing academic success and extraordinary interview skills. This is just one example of what my academic strengths resulted in and I am eager to help others achieve things just as great. I look forward to meeting you!

Tutoring Experience

I began teaching in 2014 in which I helped a few younger cousins and a family friend with entrance exams into secondary school. This was completely voluntary as I enjoyed sharing my knowledge. Not only did it help them understand certain subjects more but it also provided a way for me to solidify my knowledge. They all ended up doing extremely well in their entrance exams and securing a spot in their desired secondary school. After seeing what my help could achieve, I had the desire to continue, whilst also making an income out of it.
I continued teaching throughout my time in school and sixth form. I taught numerous different adults and students wanting to achieve high grades in GCSEs whilst working with younger students who were focusing on getting ahead of their studies. During my time in sixth form, I ran the medical ethics society in which I taught prospective medical students the principles of Medicine. I also ran a tutoring group in which I prepared students for the UKMT Maths Challenges. The students amazingly ended up getting into the finals.

Tutoring Approach

I have plenty of experience when it comes to teaching and can adapt to different abilities finding the most efficient teaching method depending on how my student learns. My usual approach is to cover the subject knowledge first, providing numerous different examples to support the information. I focus on ensuring the student understands the topic fully before immersing into questions as I believe this allows holes in knowledge to be identified. After completing all the subtopics in a certain topic, I prepare a test that integrates the different skills I have taught together. This test would reflect the actual test that the student would be sitting (GCSE etc). Once it gets closer to exam time, I focus entirely on exams, focusing in exam technique to ensure that the student knows how to apply their knowledge and answer the questions.
