I am a 65-year-old Exeter graduate in English (with a bias towards Old and Middle English and the mediaeval arts) with further qualifications in German (at 3rd year degree level) from the OU and both French and Spanish (endorsed at postgraduate level) from Ealing College of Higher Education.
I live in the Chilterns, where I walk my four collies, engage in ballet and tap, play several instruments and sing in the local church choir. I have had several short stories broadcast on local radio (Wycombe Sound).
Since 1983, I have been a private teacher working with local agencies or by recommendation. I have taught both in my own home and travelled to students' homes, and, of course, used online teaching since Lockdown. I have also taught in local adult education (creative writing).

Please see my website. I am very keen to rebuild the confidence of people who feel uncertain or disempowered because they have fallen behind, have not understood properly or - yes, it still happens! - become teacher's least popular pupil.
