With a BA hons degree in English and drama from the University of Sussex and a CELTA teaching certificate, I taught in secondary schools and FE colleges in England for 7 years. I taught in busy English and drama departments, coordinating and delivering programmes of study which adhered to exam boards, whilst also being holistic and imaginative for learner engagement. I am an excellent educator, which years of successful exam cohorts. As a LAMDA teacher and coordinator, my cohorts achieve 95% distinction rate. As an English teacher, my GCSE cohorts (England's equivalent to National 5) achieved 82% grades 7-9 (with 9 being the highest grade.)
I am currently offering tutoring services for English, EAL, history, citizenship and drama. I live opposite Holyrood park on the East side of Edinburgh. I offer online or in person tuition.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is person-centred, skills-based and often project led. I instil confidence in learners to work towards their goals. This is often for a certain grade, so we work together to gain a deeper understanding of the requirements of the exam board, whilst also finding out what interests and excites them most about the course content. I am very careful to plan tutoring sessions in a way that suits the individual learner. This means they can be encouraged to reach their own potential and achieve the best possible outcome.
