Sakura

Online Maths and Biology Lessons

Hello! My name is Sakura, and am on a gap year at the moment, having recently achieved 5A*s at A level in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Maths and Japanese. I understand just how stressful exams, and studying for them can be, and can provide you with plenty of advice and support in approaching exam revision. I strongly believe that learning should be enjoyable, so I will bring the element of fun into my teaching to help you learn.
My main subject is Japanese, as I am a native Japanese speaker, and can tutor this up to a GCSE level, as well as for adult/causal learners. Being a native Japanese speaker living in the UK, I can also offer guidance to any Japanese nationals who wish to study in the UK.
I also tutor maths and biology, both of which I tutor up to GCSE level.

Tutoring Experience

I was a GCSE chemistry tutor, providing 1-to-1 chemistry support leading up to GCSE exams in 2022.
Since 2016, I have been going to my local primary school and helping out in classrooms, leading whole class activities in maths, as well as providing 1-to-1 support for pupils with learning difficulties. I have also taught a class of year 3 pupils musical composition.
Furthermore, I am a member of an orchestra, through which I have taken part in outreach programmes, where I have worked with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them gain more confidence in music performance and creative composition.

Tutoring Approach

As my teaching experience is varied, I have a very flexible approach to teaching. I tailor how I teach to my students' needs, for example when I work with very young pupils, I use an image and object based approach in teaching. Furthermore, I studied cognition and developmental psychology at A level, and bring educational concepts from this into my teaching. I adapt my explanations of concepts to fit with my students interests, to make learning relevant and fun for everyone.
Please could you let me know what you want to study before each lesson, so that I can plan the lesson and bring useful resources!
