Ruth

I am a very friendly, calm and thoughtful teacher who works at a local primary school. I am married and have lived in Molesey for some time. I went to Goldsmiths University in London where I studied English and received a 2:1 degree. From here I went on to study for my PGCE which qualified me to teach primary aged children fro 5 -11.
I am a keen gardener who enjoys spending time with my family. I have a keen interest in teaching children with SEND and watching them grow and flourish with the correct support.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 12 years in a primary school. I have worked in all year groups, leading the upper part of the school, managing curriculum planning accross the key stage and whole class teaching. I have a wealth of experience of working in year 6 and coaching for key stage 2 SATs. I have taught all subjects and all abilities. My joy of teaching centres around the progress of each pupil as they absorb and assimilate new concepts and apply them in their own work.
Whilst my children were very young I took some time out to take care of them during these precious years. During that time I led and managed a local pre school and contributed to their “outstanding” rating. I now work in a school and have an excellent knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum.

Tutoring Approach

I am a calm and positive tutor who nurtures each of her pupils, giving them self confidence to ensure they reach their full potential. I like to structure each session according to the child's needs and requirements. I pride myself on my knowledge of each pupil I teach which as a result creates a strong relationship and helps each child to progress confidently.
As I have taught for over 10 years I have a secure knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum and am able to tutor a wide variety of subjects.
