I graduated from Oxford University with a BA in Classics. I then went on to study Law, completing my Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP University in London.
For the past 5 and a half years I was a corporate lawyer. I recently quit and am looking to start a PGCE this year.
Tutoring Experience
At school I volunteered at the Brompton Library homework club and helped primary school students with their assignments in English, Maths and Science. While at University I pursued this interest in teaching by volunteering for a programme that entailed tutoring primary school students in English and Maths. I then went on to tutor pupils in Latin and Ancient Greek (both GCSE and A-level) throughout law school.
Tutoring Approach
I vary my approach depending on my tutee, both in terms of the layout of my lessons and how much guidance I provide. I generally try and tap into the way a person learns best and cater to that. I think the most important thing is for the student to enjoy what they're learning or find some element they can get enthusiastic about.
