Online Special Needs Lessons

I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for working with children to help them with the challenges of the school curriculum and beyond.

I have a BSc in Speech Sciences from UCL and I am registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP).

Tutoring Experience

I worked for the National Health Service for 8 years working in various roles for a children's therapy service including volunteer, SLT Assistant and SLT in clinics and in primary and secondary school.

I have experience of assessing and treating children from a diverse community between the ages of 2-16 and with a variety of needs.

I have worked with children with language delay, speech delay, stammering, attention difficulties, specific learning difficulties such as Developmental Language Delay and dyscalculia, undiagnosed conditions, cognitive difficulties, social communication difficulties and autism.

Tutoring Approach

My approach involves first meeting to discuss you and your child's concerns and to carry out a brief assessment of needs with the child.

Liaison over phone and email to set targets, number of sessions and the date of first session.

My approach is fun, friendly, engaging and structured sessions tailored to your child's needs and interests. A record of progress is kept every session to check the approach taken is working effectively.

I have an open-door policy for feedback in order to know about your child's progress and set backs in the week and also how my intervention is working beyond the sessions. This is vital to understanding whether therapy is optimal at this point in time and whether to continue or change the delivery of my approach. It is also an opportunity to provide you with guidance of techniques you can use to support your child with applying their targets to daily life.
