I am half-English, half-French and a native speaker of both languages. I also speak fluent Spanish and have worked in Spanish on a daily basis for many years as a lawyer.
I was born and educated in France, where I took the French Baccaulareate and went on to study Law at Cambridge University. After university, I worked in Peru and Argentina before obtaining my professional qualifications in London to be a lawyer. I worked at law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for just under five years, working in the international law and arbitration team. I have recently transitioned to working as a lawyer in the civil service.
I have been teaching English and French since I was 15 years old, and was Director of a French-English language summer camp in Valbonne, France, for five years. I eventually led the school's expansion to include prospective university students and help them with their applications and choices.
As a practising lawyer, I have also tutored Law since leaving university. I am a fluent Spanish speaker and tutor beginner-intermediate students.
I am a hands-on tutor and push my students to think critically and form their own opinions on the topics we are learning.
For Law, I like to take a practical approach that reflects the realities of working in Law as well as understanding the conceptual issues which students have to master.
With languages, I use both a conversational and written approach, starting with foundational rules and quickly introducing students to a wide range of topics and issues for us to discuss.
