I love to teach and to prepare students for the most important exams in their life, (so far). I was born and educated in Ireland but have taught in many countries and have a great knowledge of Sciences across different exam boards. I also love to play music whenever I can get the time.
I have 29 years of teaching experience, teaching in lots of schools and in lots of countries. I have taught many different subjects but my main focus is on Biology and Chemistry. I have also have lots of experience of correcting state exams at at A level and GCSE, so I know what the examiners like to ask and how they like you to answer it. I also write exam papers and so have an inate ability to work out what the examiner is trying to ask you in that question and how to word it to get maximum marks. I have spent many years preparing students of all ability ranges and all of them have benefited in terms of their grades and confidence when they implemented the advice I gave them.
I try and make the subject interesting as well as focusing you on how to interpret and answer exam questions. I appreciate that there is a lot of learning involved in Science subjects and have developed ways to make this material more accessible. Precision of language is another barrier when it comes to success in Science and I will ensure that you have a good grasp of this going into your exams. I also like to work on a student's confidence and mental preparedness for what seems like an insurmountable task, giving them strategies to cope with revision and tackle the exams with great success.
