Offering over 12 years of tutoring experience with a 1st class Engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde and a Biomedical background from the University of Glasgow.
I have worked with First Tutors for over 12 years- first alongside my studies and I now enjoy tutoring in between working as a full time engineer. I love to offer my skills to help students succeed and achieve whatever goals they may be working toward.
In my experience, I have successfully helped pupils improve their mathematical confidence and problem solving skills through patience and practice, helping them get closer to achieving the grades they desire.
Throughout high school to the present, I have tutored a number of students in Maths, Biology and Physics at Standard Grade to Advanced Higher level. I believe that I make a well-suited tutor as I am known to be extremely patient and understanding, yet lively and friendly in character.
My lesson plans are tailored to each individual pupil. My usual approach is to first focus on the specific topics the student is struggling with, and then discuss the best method to reach their goals. I believe that the best approach to learning is to build a strong foundation to gain confidence in the basics of the subject and the rest will be sure to follow. With both Maths and Biology, consistent practice and repetition is of utmost importance to gain familiarity and confidence, so I make sure to encourage my pupils and provide them with the problem solving questions and support they require.
