Psychology Tuition in St. Ives

I specialise in A level Psychology tutoring for the AQA specification. In my career, I have worked in the state and independent sectors, further education, and higher education. My involvement in AQA A level Psychology began in 1982, and I have been involved in specification development (Curriculum 2000, for example) and examination duties for AQA (Assistant Chief Examiner, Principal Examiner, Assistant Chief Moderator for coursework, Regional Coursework Adviser, etc). I have also represented AQA at discussions about the future of A level Psychology with relevant government bodies.

Although based in King's Lynn, I spend a lot of time in Cambridge and am more than happy to offer tuition to students from Cambridge and surrounding areas. I am also available for online tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught A level Psychology for thirty-six years, and published textbooks and other resources for A level Psychology since 1992. My most well-known publications are the British Psychological Society Manual of Psychology Practicals (1992), Talking Points in Psychology (1994), Psychology: A New Introduction First (1998) and Second (2001) Editions (with Richard Gross), The Revision and Examination Companion for Psychology Year 1 and AS level (2016) and Year 2 (2016) (with Mike Cardwell and others), and all of the Complete Companion Exam Workbook series (2018) (with Mike Cardwell and Clare Compton). I was also the Series Editor for the Applying Psychology To... series, first published in 1995.

Tutoring Approach

I am a methodical and thorough tutor, specialising in giving students the skills they need to achieve the highest grades. Whether a student is struggling to pass Psychology or aiming for an Oxbridge place, they will find my approach gives them the confidence they need to meet AQA's examination requirements.
