9 A*s and 2 As at GCSE
I have previous experience working in tuition centres with small/large groups of students, as well as teaching on a one to one basis. I am a friendly yet professional tutor and not only aim to ensure students are well-prepared for examinations, but that they are independent when it comes to seeking knowledge above and beyond what is taught to them. This will allow them to take hold of their education and be more proactive.
I tailor my teaching styles to the needs of each student after assessing their strengths and weakness. However, I ensure to use methods of active learning over passive, such as recall to ensure that effective learning is taking place. I also use tutorial style teaching often used at university which aids students in making connections between the topics that they learn so as to facilitate deeper learning. This helps them retain information not only short term, but also long term. I utilise material provided by exam boards so that students become familiar with the format of examinations.
