Dear all,

I am a final year music student at Bangor University in North Wales. I will soon be training to be a full time music teacher. I am currently back home in Glasgow and looking to gain experience in teaching through helping secondary music students get the best results in their music listening exams!

Tutoring Experience

I am a highly skilled music student with a self taught background. I possess high levels of skill in analysing and identifying musical concepts in pieces across music history. I have attained exceptional results in both my practical and listening exams in high school, exceeding 90% of the available grades. I achieved A grades in national 5, higher and advanced higher music qualifications. For the past 4 years, I have developed my skills to a very high level studying for a Bachelors degree in music at Bangor University, North Wales. I am on track for a first class degree overall, but currently taking a break from my studies. I have obtained skills and knowledge at university which can fully prepare secondary music students to exceed expectations and gain high quality grades in their school exams.

Tutoring Approach

I like to make people feel at ease while learning something new and will take ample time to ensure that knowledge is gained at the student’s pace. I try to be creative in my approach to teaching music and use figurative comparisons to show how we can apply aspects of everyday life to music and transfer this understanding into the music itself. I like to be personable and humorous in my approach as I feel this eases any angst the student may have in learning something in detail for the first time. I am someone who is approachable in my teaching and makes time to ensure the best results for each student can be attained.
