I'm passionate about helping children to develop an inquisitive mind and a love for learning. I've taught in both mainstream and special needs settings and have been a class teacher, art leader and the leader of the children's school council. I have worked as a tutor for a year and teach both KS1 and KS2 online and face-to- face. This has included everything from phonics right through to SATS preparation.
I started my teaching journey working as a classroom assistant in 2018 and loved working with children in small groups to address misconceptions. In 2019 I became a class teacher at a junior school and was praised on my creative approaches in the classroom. In 2023 I moved schools to teach in a more flexible way that also allowed me to start tutoring. I taught in a primary school as a class teacher, intervention specialist and as a supply teacher in various classrooms from year 1 to year 6. I have also organised and taught various after school clubs including, art, hula hoop, SEN fitness and drama. My tutoring experience is both online and face-to-face.
I love a visual approach to learning but understand that each mind processes and learns differently. The chances are, if a child needs tutoring then they most likely need a fresh approach, or maybe more than one approach. I have the patience and resourcefulness to help my pupils achieve sucess and overcome any barriers to their understanding. I'm upbeat and create engaging lessons and resources to match this. All lessons are adapted based off each individuals needs too and my training in sensory processing means that I am adaptable and compassionate when considering what learning looks like for each individual.
