With over 5 years of experience in tutoring and teaching, both online and in-person, I am an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher. As an Ofsted Outstanding teacher currently working full-time in a secondary school, I am passionate about helping students succeed. I went into teaching because I wanted to encourage young people to learn and reach their full potential. I firmly believe that everyone has the right to succeed in their learning, and with the right support and motivation, every student can achieve greatness. My friendly and approachable nature creates a positive learning environment where students feel confident and inspired. I aim to help students not only meet but surpass their goals, empowering them to exceed even their own expectations.
Having taught in a range of secondary schools throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience working with students of varying ages and abilities, including time spent in both grammar and mainstream school settings. I have also tutored grammar school students, consistently achieving a 100% pass rate with my tutees. My main subjects are Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and I am passionate about making these subjects engaging and accessible to all learners. I hold a degree in Biology and a PGCE in Science Education (First Class), with additional scientific studies in Physics and Chemistry, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support students in achieving their best results.
My tutoring approach is centered around creating a tailored and student-focused learning experience. I believe that every student is unique, so I take the time to understand their individual needs, strengths, and challenges. I focus on building a strong rapport with my students, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported throughout their learning journey. By making lessons interactive, engaging, and relevant, I help students develop both a deep understanding of the subject and the confidence to apply their knowledge. I set clear goals and work alongside students to track their progress, offering continuous encouragement and constructive feedback. Ultimately, my aim is to inspire a love for learning, helping students not only meet but exceed their academic potential.
I believe that communication with parents is key to a student's success, and I strive to ensure they are actively involved in the learning journey. I maintain regular updates on their child's progress, highlighting achievements, areas for improvement, and strategies to support their development. I encourage open dialogue with parents, welcoming feedback and working collaboratively to address any concerns or challenges. By keeping parents informed and engaged, I help create a supportive learning environment both at home and in my sessions, ensuring that students receive the encouragement and guidance they need to thrive.
