My name is Rebecca Read and I am a part time Biology teacher at Torquay Boy's Grammar School.
I have taught Biology full time for five years at Torquay Boy's Grammar School, I am currently working part time in order to look after my two young children. I teach GCSE, A level and IB at both higher and standard level. I have four years experience of marking GCSE exam papers for AQA. This has given me a unique insight into the skills and approach required to achieve high results at GCSE. I have also tutored both GCSE and A level students for the past 4 years. Whilst exam technique is important I ensure that students understand the topics they are struggling with by tackling underlying issues in a variety of ways. I offer online tuition between the hours of 9am-3pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
I have a flexible approach to teaching and tutoring, if one method doesn't work I can adopt different methods to ensure a concept is understood. I have a laptop which I use during tutoring as well as several textbooks and workbooks, I also use a lot of exam material in order to apply and utilise the knowledge that has been consolidated.
