I am driven, committed and self-motivated. I enjoy being organised, efficient and solving problems. And, most importantly, I love working with children and helping them to fulfil their full potential. To see a child's confidence and belief in their abilities blossom is incomparable.
I have full QTS. I have recently taken a step back from full-time teaching but, was previously Head of Year, part of the Reading Subject Leader Team, liaison with the local care home and other outreach programs and coordinated the School Council. Alongside my PCGE with Essex and Thames Primary SCITT, I took a SEN specialism. I have experience in KS1 and KS2 both in a teaching assistant and class teacher capacity and between 2020 to 2022, I completed a part time Masters in Teaching and Learning, achieving distinction. My dissertation was a study of Reading for Pleasure.
Working with children has made me acutely aware of the power of communication in teaching and learning. I have always strived to plan and teach through means which make learning opportunities as accessible as possible so all learners are challenged and engaged. I think the love of learning is key. I endeavour to make my lessons exciting and fun whilst prioritising and not deviating from the learning intention.
