Professional teacher available for face to face and/or online tutoring work. I have a calm, patient disposition and I am extremely passionate about teaching and learning. I teach using a wide range of strategies including kinaesthetic approaches to learning, as well as visual and auditory modes of learning. I have experience of teaching nursery children aged three years all the way up to year six. I believe in making learning fun and enjoyable, as this engages children and inspires them to be the best that they can be. I believe that it is important that students have a can do attitude, however if they don't know how to do something, the key word is, 'yet!" I am here to support them and to help them grasp concepts, which ensures that they make good academic progress.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in primary schools for the past twelve years from nursery up to year six. I have completed key stage one and key stage two SATs, as well as the phonics screening tests. I have completed read, write inc training courses and have the experience and training of teaching children to read from set one/phase one ditty books (nursery/reception) all the way to grey level, which focusses on grammar and composition. I have taught many children to read and write, including those with additional learning needs including global development delay and speech and language delay. I am happy to carry out assessments of your child's abilities, so that we can track and monitor your child's progress accordingly. I have previously worked as a private tutor for six years for VIP families in the UK and the Middle East. I have taught children with English as an additional language, and have developed strategies to improve their understanding of language and their ability to apply this understanding to their own writing. I have worked for many VIP families and ensure discretion and confidentiality at all times.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that it is essential that children are given the time and support that they need to be the best that they can be! Listening to children and ensuring that they understand what is being taught is crucial to ensuring that children grasp concepts and are able to apply them in different areas. If children struggle we need to present those concepts in different ways, to ensure that they can apply their skills to different tasks i.e. problem solving, reasoning etc. One of the key issues in schools today is in regards to developing children's stamina in writing i.e. writing at length for a given time. I have used a range of strategies to improve children's stamina in writing, as well as improving the range of literary devices that they use. I have been graded by Ofsted as outstanding and I have always been praised by professionals for my determination and passion.
