I am an enthusiastic and friendly tutor, currently pursuing my MA in Modern Literature in Culture after completing my BA in English. I've always enjoyed both studying and teaching English since privately tutoring online during the pandemic. I enjoy enabling students to achieve the grades they're aiming for and to help them to grow in their confidence surrounding a subject.
4 years of tutoring English Literature, from primary up to GCSE Level.
Overall, I aim to help and guide students to find their stride in this subject, help them tackle difficult texts and challenge them to think critically - which is key to succeeding in English.
PRIMARY: Working on comprehension, non-fiction and fiction writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
SECONDARY (11-14yrs) I have my own resources topics to cover per term from poetry to Shakespeare. Through both class and assigned tasks, I aim to help my student improve on their spelling, punctuation and grammar, essay and argumentative writing and critical thinking skills.
GCSE & A LEVEL: Working on chosen texts through re-reading key passages, understanding context; reviewing strengths and weaknesses on written work (mostly essay-based); developing both analytical and critical thinking skills further through unseen texts and poetry.
