Phoebe

I am a 25-year-old experienced tutor with a 1st Class English BA/MA from the University of Cambridge. I worked in a secondary school for two years (2020-22) before beginning my MA in Theatre Directing at the University of East Anglia in 2022 (due to finish in 2024). I am passionate about English and Drama, and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm with others. I also have a particular interest in Religious Studies and History, subjects I studied at A Level (and achieved A*s in) and enjoy teaching these as well.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored privately at a variety of levels, on and off since 2015. These have included A Level English; GCSE English Lit & Lang, Drama, RS, and History; and the Kent 11+. From 2020 to 2022, I worked in a secondary school where one of my responsibilities included providing Covid catch-up support in English to pupils who had fallen behind. These were students at all levels of the school, but with particular focus on GCSE and A Level. I also worked extensively with the school's Drama/Theatre Studies department, especially with students working towards their exams.

Tutoring Approach

I am a friendly and approachable individual, and prioritise making sure my students feel comfortable and at ease when working with me, to ensure that they are able to ask questions and can get the most out of our sessions together. I am conscientious and enthusiastic. I try as far as possible to tailor my approach to the individual needs of the student.
