I am 53, married with children and live in London. In addition to my teaching I have an active practice as a painter, a printmaker and a cartoonist

Tutoring Experience

I have 15 years experience teaching in the further education sector, principally as course leader for Art Foundation, preparing Fine Art,Design and textile students for university entry. I teach drawing (including life drawing), painting, printmaking, design and contextual studies.
An important part of my teaching has been advising individual students on their portfolios and guiding them through the UCAS process including the writing of personal statements.

Tutoring Approach

Positive encouragement based on the belief that all students are capable and have abilities and ideas that can be drawn out through practical advice on technique and by giving them the confidence to try things out.
