Phil

Hello! My name is Mr Removed and thank you for visiting my page!

I know how daunting it can be to start online lessons and you probably have questions such as: Will my teacher be friendly and supportive? Will they be non-judgemental? Will my lessons be fun, engaging and well planned? If these sort of questions are going through your mind, then I can provide a big fat YES in response!

My Background: I teach History (KS3 - GCSE), RE and Philosophy (KS3 - A Level) in Stoke-on-Trent, and completed by teacher training in 2021 at St Thomas More Catholic Academy.

Tutoring Experience

Experience: I have experience of teaching in both state and private schools across the area including - Holmes Chapel School and St Dominics Priory School. I also have SEN experience as I worked as a Learning Support Practitioner at Sandbach Boys School. This involved supporting students with a range of needs such as: ADHD, Autism, PTSD and Anxiety conditions.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Tutoring Approach

During my teacher training I had fantastic experience of participating in online teaching during the pandemic, and so I feel very confident and comfortable with teaching online.

A typical lesson will last approximately 1 hour, however, I am flexible and happy to accomodate the needs of my students.

My lessons focus on maximising learning in a fun and engaging way. I achieve this through a variety of different teaching methods, clear and concise lesson planning, and the use of a range of different learning activities. I will regularly set homeworks and use recap activities to felicitate memory retrieval.

Overall, I believe that students should not be passive but active learners and so my approach allows students to break down information into bite size chunks and allows them the opportunity to construct their own meaning to enhance individual understanding.
