Peter

My name is Peter and I am an experienced tutor of philosophy and Religious Studies. My academic background includes religious studies, philosophy, and theology. A particular focus of mine is developing good academic skills that lift marks into the higher bands. I am able to help students to face exams with confidence. I can help students at A level studying philosophy and/or religious studies, as well as ethics. I can help with evaluating resources as well as library and search skills.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for fifteen years and many of my students are now themselves teachers. I have been teaching university students using both online and face-to-face methods. During my career I have visited students based in prison, moderated academic forums, marked exam scrips, and even written exam questions and marking guidance. My expertise is in Christianity and Hinduism, Ethics, philosophy of Mind, and philosophy of religion but is by no means limited to these.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is what is called 'student centred'. Teaching and learning has to be focused on student needs and ability. We don't all learn in the same way, or at the same speed, so I have a flexible approach to teaching. I have experience of educas and AQA specs at A Level philosophy.
