Peter

I am a composer, percussionist and teacher who has been involved in all three areas for thirty years. I have written music for several ensembles and short animations and am now working on a musical.
I am a senior examiner in A level Music Composing and have been for over thirty years.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught music A level and GCSE, as well as theory at all levels, in both class and private sessions. During my university days, I taught small seminars on aspects of twentieth- century music. I have been teaching in further education since 1989.

Tutoring Approach

Teaching individual students is very rewarding for me and I enjoy tailoring the content to the specific requirements of the tutee. I am happy to teach individuals, pairs or small groups. Initially, I would meet a tutee to ascertain their current level and requirements, then produce a plan in consultation with them. I enjoy making learning resources and am also happy to use extant material.
