I am an experienced Mathematics teacher, specialising in A Level and GCSE tutoring, with 12 years of teaching experience, including Head of Mathematics at two independent boys' schools. I am also an Examiner for the Edexcel and AQA Examining Boards.

I charge an extremely reasonable rate compared to other Tutors with similar experience.

Originally from Yorkshire, I have lived in the Home Counties for a number of years. Outside of teaching and pedagogy, I enjoy spending time with my family, and watching and playing sport, particularly golf and rowing.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a Teacher of Mathematics for over 10 years and I have taught at three independent schools, two of which where I have been Head of Department, leading teams of Mathematics specialists. I have been a private tutor for the last 10 years, helping pupils with preparation for their examinations.

I am an examiner for Edexcel and AQA and have vast experience of the exam and assessment process, which has helped my tutees to achieve top grades at GCSE and A Level.

I am currently Head of Mathematics at an independent school in London, so every day I see how students are tackling problems in a live classroom scenario. I have vast amounts of experience in preparing pupils for examinations and have sustained success in doing so.

Furthermore, I have taught Further Mathematics for a number of years and have prepared pupils for Oxbridge entrance examinations.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the mastery of Mathematics is achieved through rigorous consolidation and practise. If consolidation is unachievable, I have huge amount of experience of providing alternative methods to develop understanding.
Furthermore, I am extremely skilled at identifying learners’ weaknesses and then targeting those specific areas to help them improve. I believe that this is key to success at any level of education.
