An experienced Primary teacher and Tutor, I am a former teacher and now children’s mental health praxtioner. I am enthusiastic about the education of children and young people. I have a strong belief that everyone should leave school with basic literacy and numeracy no matter their background.
As a tutor I am always looking to improve on my teaching and tutoring methods. I hope to ensure students are academically successful, but also that they can grow their self-confidence and self-esteem.
My experience means I have taught at all Key Stages, especially National Curriculum subjects, idiot maths and English, at KS1 and KS2.
I have marked Year 6 SATs and GCSE level exams. I have worked with different exam boards and have many resources that can support, from KS1 to GCSE.
Some individuals can get lost in a classroom environment and it is important that during tutoring each child is given a tailored, individualised approach to any subject. I am patient and aim to create a calm and safe learning environment through praise and encouragement. Failure should be looked at as a learning experience, and this can be achieved in all subjects.
I will ensure your child is given the support they need, alongside any SEN support. I will do my best to instil confidence in the tutee and an enjoyment of learning, and help the tutee is approach the subject in a positive way.
