Hi, I'm Pedro, a graduate turned professional on Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol. I have experienced tutoring younger cohorts at university level and some informal tutoring experience in maths and physics.
My educational approach is very much based on the students needs and understanding concepts as opposed to memorising them. I enjoy discussion-based learning to ensure I can adapt the lesson to the student.
Throughout university I supported my studies with a part-time as a tutor for GCSE maths and physics students. This developed my understanding of what great teaching is and solidified my foundations on these topics, as there is nothing wrong with refreshing on old concepts. I also took the opportunity to be a Teaching Assistant at university, helping younger students through tough modules such as Thermodynamics and Aerodynamics. I am currently tutoring A-level Maths and Physics and am happy to take on new students.
My approach is built on two key things: skill development and adaptability. First, I start by creating a solid foundation using the best methodology that aligns with the preferred curriculum. From there, I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s individual needs, adjusting based on their understanding and progress.
Beyond just knowledge, I love helping students develop strong analytical and scientific thinking skills. To do this, I use a mix of worksheets, class activities, and past papers to make learning engaging and effective.
Lastly, I believe communication is key! I make sure to keep parents updated on their child’s progress, so everyone stays in the loop and can celebrate their achievements together
