Pauline

I am a qualified teacher, tutor and dyslexia specialist. My passion for addressing the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals has deepened over the years, fuelled not only by my professional experiences, but also by the personal journey with two dyslexic children of my own. Seeing the challenges they faced, their strengths and difficulties, and the impact this had on their learning and self esteem, has led me to train in effective methods for supporting struggling learners and harnessing their innate capabilities.

Tutoring Experience

In my career as a teacher, I have worked across the primary age range, honing my skills to cater to different learning needs. I successfully undertook the role of home-schooling three of my four children, from early years through to achieving success at GCSE level. I also have valuable experience in one-to-one tutoring, from ages 12 to adult.

Tutoring Approach

I provide visual, interactive approaches which harness the learning strengths of neurodivergent thinkers. Tutoring sessions will support your natural way of thinking, and help you to regain confidence and independence in your learning.
If your main concerns centre on the ability to focus, or the impact of ADHD or dyspraxia, sessions can be delivered to address these concerns.
All tutoring sessions are tailored to provide ways to manage focus and energy. Developing these skills will have a positive impact on learning and daily life, allowing individuals to engage better with their learning, and to grow in general self-confidence.
I offer 1 hour sessions booked in 6-7 week blocks, to fit with term times, from key stages 1-3. I also work with older students and adults who are struggling with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD or dyspraxia.
