I am a qualified Mathematics teacher with extensive experience working both overseas and within the Scottish education system at one of Glasgow's top independent schools and Harrow International School in Hong Kong. I have a strong understanding of the Scottish curriculum, which has enabled me to deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to diverse student needs. My international experience has also enriched my teaching approach, allowing me to bring a broad perspective and adaptable teaching strategies.

I have now taken early retirement but still enjoy teaching students at all levels and see them gain in confidence and ultimately attain the success they are looking for. As such, I have decided I would like to tutor a small number of students.

Prior to teaching, I worked in a number of large Financial and Professional Services organisations in the UK and Sydney.

My approach to tutoring mathematics is centered on creating a supportive and personalised learning environment that caters to each student’s unique needs and learning style. I believe in building a strong foundation of understanding through clear explanations, engaging problem-solving activities and real-world applications that make maths relevant and accessible. By fostering confidence and curiosity, I aim to help students develop not only their mathematical skills but also a positive attitude towards learning.

I am committed to adapting my teaching strategies to suit individual learners, whether they require additional support, enrichment or alternative methods of engagement. I prioritise patience, encouragement and open communication to ensure students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring concepts at their own pace. My goal is to empower students to overcome challenges, achieve their academic potential, and develop skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom.
