As someone who loves to learn, I find joy in sharing my enthusiasm of mathematics and the sciences, and moreover the skill of learning itself!
I have many hundreds of hours experience teaching students at 11+ up to A-Level, IB and Pre U from various top schools around the UK and world. I have had some undergraduate students in my specialist areas. In the past, wrote GCSE-level physics questions for a revision website.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a masters in Natural Sciences, specialising in theoretical physics. Though I am no longer in further education or academia, I maintain a fascination with mathematics and sciences, and have always continued to develop my understanding of advanced topics.
For best progress, students require lessons which fit them as individuals. I tailor my approach to each concept and topic based on the student - there will always be another way to tackle a topic!
I offer guidance on organisation - a crucial part of successful studies. How to best use resources, how to manage time and how our memory works.
As I am genuinely fascinated by the subjects I teach, I maintain honest enthusiasm and want to allow students to follow their own enthusiasm whilst keeping enough focus on important goals. Often when a student struggles with a subject, they have developed a negative relationship with it and finding a new way to connect the subject to their interest can completely change the way they interact with the material they learn.
