I realised a while ago my skills were better fitted to teaching students one on one or in very small groups (2-3 people) and have enjoyed a lot of praise from the students I have taught in the past.
I offer the following services:
- home tutoring after school (I will support a student alongside their school studies)
- home schooling (I will design and take a student through an entire syllabus)
- Adult retakes (Want to improve your GCSEs/A-levels? You'll learn 10 times faster with me!)
- New teacher prep (Need help and advice with how to organise yourself and plan lessons? I've got a lot resources and plenty of hours of helpful advice!)
- Using ICT to organise your time, revise and develop organisational tools
Having taught in schools for 10 years I have seen first hand how many schools are unfortunately not able to deliver the education many of us would have expected from them and feeling powerless on the inside I have set myself up as a private tutor and have now been tutoring for 7 years alongside the 10 years of teaching in schools.
My primary motive is focus on the student's confidence in themselves and their ability within the subject. Second to that it would be to encourage their curiosity, enthusiasm and interest in that subject. With these two things in place I find a lot of progress can be done and then we can put more focus on the little details, how to organise their name and how to study independently.
