I am from the Isle of Man where I studied the IB and am now a 2nd year Geography student at Newcastle University. My hobbies are Sailing and Water Polo amongst many other sports.
I have taught sailing to children and adults over my school and university holidays which has given me vast teaching experience. I have also tutored my younger brothers and sisters in Maths and Geography up to GCSE level and English up to KS3 level.
My teaching approach would be to allow the student to engage with the topic/question initially to see their work methods. If help on a topic/question was required I would talk through the answer with the student in a way that they could potentially reach the correct answer with just guidance rather than being told the answer. This is a good method as it allows for the student to become self-sufficient in the topic and as they create links it can become long-lasting in their memories.
