I am a full-time professional maths tutor with a first-class Mathematics degree and teacher training from Oxford University, with over 8,000 hours of individual face-to-face and online tutoring experience.
I offer face-to-face maths lessons for my clients in North London, in my office or in their home for their convenience, as well as online lessons globally, delivered with an industry-leading technology suite.
I tutor maths at primary and secondary levels, including Key Stages 1, 2 & 3, GCSEs and A-level maths for all major exam boards, as well as exam preparation for entry to private and grammar schools.
I have nine years of full-time experience as a private tutor, alongside previous work as a maths teacher in two Oxfordshire secondary schools. My students consistently achieve or exceed their target grades, with several gaining admission to Oxford and Cambridge.
Confidence plays a crucial role in a student’s success, and I focus on building this gradually through patient and supportive teaching. I always emphasise to students the reasoning behind mathematical concepts rather than simply having them memorise methods - when a student truly understands how something works, they retain it more effectively and develop a greater appreciation for maths. I'm passionate about teaching and continuously refine my pedagogical skills through research, professional development, and reflection.
For primary school and Year 7 students, I make maths engaging, fun, and interactive by using creative methods like real-life examples (e.g. dividing sweets to explain ratios). For Years 8-11, I ensure lessons are aligned with the school syllabus, paying particular attention to the updated national curriculum where many A-level topics have been moved to GCSE. My A-level tutoring is exam-focused, concentrating on exam techniques and targeted revision to boost performance. In addition to face-to-face lessons, I provide tailored homework on a weekly basis to help students reinforce their learning and retain key methods.
