My name is Owen and I am a passionate teacher who really enjoys motivating students to develop a love of French and in turn much improved results. I am a qualified French teacher with 22 years experience in secondary schools as a teacher, Head of Languages and Assistant Headteacher. I have a degree in French and have also lived in France as a professional rugby player and teacher. I am DBS checked.

Tutoring Experience

I have 22 years experience teaching and tutoring with excelllent results both in terms of grades and in improving motivation. I am very knowledgeable about both how students learn and about exam board specifications and requirements.

Tutoring Approach

I work by developing positive relationships with students and by making lessons rewarding and enjoyable. I will plan lessons having identified areas of improvement both from lessons and in conjunction with the student. Having taught French for many years and having led language departments I have an in depth knowledge of how students learn and of the difficulties faced in learning languages.
