Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Omar Ibrahim and I have recently completed my teaching qualification at Bolton University. Throughout my qualification, I have developed a strong sense of what inclusion means and how important it is to ensure that all students feel valued and supported throughout their school careers. I believe every pupil should have the same chances in their education regardless of their socio-economic background, gender, sexuality, or additional need. The only difference a teacher should see in a pupil is their ability to learn and understand what is being taught. It is therefore up to the teacher to adapt their lessons and develop strategies to support them in doing this.

Tutoring Experience

From my current jo as a math lecturer at 'university and teaching placements, I gained many skills and values that I believe are invaluable when starting my teaching career. I was able to have specific teaching experiences teaching mathematics at KS3, KS4, GCSE, and AS levels, engaging with students from a range of age groups and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds to help them improve their learning and achieve their goals. I was able to shadow more experienced teachers and work collaboratively. Teaching with different faculties has broadened my skillset and expanded my collaborative capacity to enable me to respond effectively in different teaching situations. Being able to understand the wider context of learning. I believe I bring an approach that recognises a range of teaching approaches as well as multiple behaviour management strategies to cater to the myriad learning styles of my pupils. I would often sit higher-ability students with lower-ability students so they can support each other. I developed formative assessments as well as summative assessment techniques to enable me to have a sound knowledge of each student I taught and how to then adapt my teaching to improve their knowledge of the unit I was teaching them.

Tutoring Approach

Throughout my teaching practices, I developed my strategies to teach a wide variety of learners with a wide variety of abilities. I am a strong believer in everyone can be a learner if they are given the correct tools and the correct teaching approach to learn. Supporting students to complete GCSE re-sits at college is something that I feel I have become confident in doing and supporting not only their knowledge but also their resilience when having to do so. Resilience has been most important during recent years and from personal experience as well as my teaching qualification I have gained invaluable knowledge of the importance of a strong teacher to support the most vulnerable of learners. This also relates to the increase in safeguarding incidents that could have possibly arisen. I have a sound knowledge of how to keep children safe and the duty we all have as teaching professionals in line with keeping children safe in education. With the new updates to the KCSIE 2022 document that comes into effect in September of this year, I feel confident to be able to continue to do this in my teaching. Knowing your protocols as well as getting to know the DSL is something that would be one of my first roles in my appointment
