Personal Profile Statement.

I am a microbiologist with over 15 years’ experience in home tutoring specifically science subjects with good testimonials to my credit. I hold a degree in microbiology and a master’s in Medical Microbiology. I teach biology and science subjects for primary, secondary, (GCSE) and A-level. I also tutor Medical Microbiology for undergraduate students.
I enjoy tutoring and imparting knowledge is my passion because it gives me a sense of fulfilment. My teaching style helps build a high level of can-do spirit in my students. I inspire confidence in them by encouraging them to aspire to be the best version of themselves through dedication, hard work and commitment to their academic goals. In order to engage my students and make learning fun and interactive, I adopt visual aids and give practical examples to ease assimilation.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught at different levels, I have been conducting private tutorials for primary and secondary school students since my undergraduate days. I however had my first professional teaching experience at a secondary school during my National Youth service. Afterwards I worked as a teacher in a primary school where I further developed a strong passion for teaching. I have since then taught in different capacities such as, adult literacy centres, private tutoring and lecturing. I have over 20 years experience in teaching.

In recent years, I worked as a lecturer at the school of nursing at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and also the Lagos State University. During this time, I have developed my capacity for lecturing and tutoring by acquiring professional and social skills necessary for the learning and development of all the students I have impacted.
I was recently coopted as school Governor at Abercrombie Primary school Chesterfield, were my daughter attends.

Tutoring Approach

I try to build a can do spirit into my students, by encouraging them to be the best version of themselves, I also adopt visual aids in helping them understand the subject better. I conduct pre and post test during every class.
