Ollie

Hi, I’m Ollie and I’m a second-year student at St Andrews University. I’m studying for a degree in Psychology, following my recent A levels in Psychology, Philosophy and Biology. I achieved straight A's at A level and all A*/A's at GCSE.

Biology, Psychology and Philosophy are a wonderful combination - I understand what motivates people and their thought processes, and how this is underpinned by our physical make-up and our place amongst living organisms on this planet. Alongside this I have developed critical thinking and analytical skills to look at how different people interact with each other and the world around them. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge of these subjects and I invite you to come on a journey of discovery with me. You will learn about yourself and develop your own excitement for these incredible subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I began tutoring whilst at school - teaching maths to help students less fortunate than myself who had fallen behind during the pandemic. My lessons were supportive, accessible and productive and I was proud to receive wonderful reviews. I enjoyed teaching new concepts, sharing information, watching my students progress and grow in confidence, and ultimately achieve their goals.

Tutoring Approach

Lessons will be tailored to your needs, and there will be plenty of discussions and visual aids. I expect you to answer questions and I will provide staged support to help you with this where necessary. There are no wrong answers, instead with insight and feedback, I encourage you to examine your answers, and to shape and modify them. I know that studying is a very individual process and I will motivate and help you understand this so that you develop skills that see you through your school years and into university, and become life long learners. I will encourage you to develop confidence in your skills and subject knowledge, and to work consistently and at a high level.
