Olivia

Hello!
My name is Olivia and I'm a classically trained soprano. I am currently completing my Master of Performance in Vocal Studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. I have previously completed my Bachelor of Music with Honours in Vocal Studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I adore performing and equally love to instil that passion within my teaching.

I am a passionate performer and have starred in various operas in Florence, Italy with the New Generation Festival. These operas include L’Elisir D’Amore (Donizetti) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart).
Other operas include Dead Man Walking (Heggie) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and The Rake's Progress (Stravinsky) at the Royal Academy of Music.

Tutoring Experience

I currently offer lessons in Singing and Music Theory. I possess 5 years teaching experience in private teaching as a vocal tutor and music theory tutor in music schools. My students all received distinctions in their ABRSM Music Theory exams under my tutelage. I have tutored both beginners and intermediate learners. I have tutored students through graded examinations, using ABRSM syllabus', and also those who just wish to learn to sing and learn music for fun!
Having completed my own ABRSM grades, I know the best way to prepare for these exams. I possess ABRSM grades 1-8 in Singing (Distinction), ABRSM grades 1-5 Music Theory (Distinction) and ABRSM grades 1-3 in Piano (Distinction).
I offer vocal training from a classical background, however if you wish to have tutoring in musical theatre, pop and jazz, I also have experience in these areas.

Tutoring Approach

I believe learning music should be fun and inspiring and because of this, my teaching techniques are interactive and tailored differently to each student to support their needs. I believe any child or adult has musical potential, they simply needed the right support and nurturing. I believe singing should be freeing and fun, and therefore my techniques encompass this.
