I am a professional and approachable ESOL teacher with strong subject and specialist knowledge. I aim to foster a love for learning the English language, while supporting my students in achieving their personal and professional goals.
My experience includes teaching roles in both college and charitable settings (such as Preston College and the British Red Cross), where I have worked with students of varying ages, backgrounds, and abilities (ranging from Pre-Entry to Level 2). This has informed my adaptable, learner-focused teaching style, enabling me to move seamlessly between leading a 20-strong cohort and providing individualised one-to-one support.
I adopt a student-centred approach to teaching and learning. This involves identifying each student’s individual needs and working collaboratively with them to build confidence and improve their English language skills, through personally tailored lessons. I believe that active learning is integral to this process. Consequently, I use a range of resources and activities (such as PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, games, and role-play scenarios) to make sessions as interactive and engaging as possible.
