I´m a committed and passionate Spanish tutor with years of experience teaching to a variety of ages and levels. I lived in Spain for 4 years and am deeply enamored with the culture and the langauge and am passionate about teaching it.

I am devoted to the process of teaching a language and the individual´s journey of empowerment and growth through language acquisition, and can guarantee the attainment of practical and applicable skills for my students.

In my free time you can find me making music, learning Portuguese, swimming and flicking through Spanish Netflix.

Tutoring Experience

• Private Spanish tutor: Over 3 years

I have been primarily dedicated to providing personalised one-on-one tutoring sessions,with the focus on meeting individual students needs and goals in learning Spanish. I have built and maintained relationships with students through open communication and trust and exciting lessons that are packed full of a variety of games, activities, quizzes and exercises that seek to develop multiple skills. Although it is not held as popular opinion, I have found that being a non-native speaker of Spanish has been extremely beneficial in teaching it, as I've been able to better explain certain grammatical features and idiomatic phrases that make absolutely no sense when you put them directly through google translate!

• Trainee Language Teacher: 1 year

I have worked closely with experienced language teachers to observe and implement the most effective teaching methods and gain insights into lesson planning and focus. I had the opportunity to teach students who faced language barriers or learning difficulties, offering extra help, accommodations, or differentiated instruction as needed.

• Online English Teacher: 1 year

I have conducted online English lessons for Chinese children aged 5-12 years, utilizing interactive teaching methods, educational games,
and multimedia resources to engage students and make learning enjoyable. This experience taught me how to monitor and assess students' progress through regular evaluations and feedback, providing constructive criticism to facilitate improvement.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in planning and delivering exciting lessons that are packed full of a variety of games, activities, quizzes and exercises that seek to develop multiple skills. I loved to use various websites such as: Memorize, Quizlet, Limmu and websites like TES for resources for teaching vocab and grammar. My experience working as a language teacher in schools highlighted the importance of cultural immersion and direct language exposure by incorporating primary resources of language use that apply to the current lesson focus. I am a fan of using recordings of Spanish speakers (including my friends!) and taking clips from tv shows, adverts and films in order to demonstrate in-situ language usage. I am committed to making sure my students are memorising and integrating taught language and firmly believe in the importance of setting homework to complete in their spare time; wherever it be creating or deconstructing some sentences or a piece of text, or going off and learning as many new words that apply to a newly taught concept.
